I am going to start baby sitting my friends daughter, Monday- Friday, 8 am - 5 pm...maybe a little longer per week. Her daughter is 14 months old, not potty trained, still drinks a bottle. I want to know what to charge so it would be worth my time, as I already have a 6 year old and a 3 year old.I don't want to get ripped off, but I don't want to over charge since she is a friend. Thanks!I believe a daycare in my town charges about 190.00 per week for her age. I've actually called some in-home child care and they charge about 120.00 per week. But that was probably 2 years ago.

depens how much the parents get paid. for a baby i charge 10 bucks an hour. sometimes 15 all depens on their income, if they have good jobs or not. in the other hand it is a friend and it makes it that much harder but i would say maybe 7 an hour.

Well being paid fairly is the best start specially since it's your friend, so money issues can be a bit tricky to deal with friends. Before I say a number I'll ask what the rate is in your town.. do you any other babysitters in your area? The fact that you already have a 6 yr old and a 3 yr old means that her daughter wont get undivided attention, it'll be split between two other kids-Im thinking from a parent who takes her kids to daycare perspective. Maybe you wanna think of a lump sum p/mos that will make sense for you? You'll be giving her hot lunches etc.. it also depends on what things you'll be providing... lunch, snacks.. what activities etc ?I dont think your costs will be too much higher since Im sure you have all the stuff from your kids-toys equipment etc.. then it's mainly your time which is very valuable...and you'll be handling your 3 yr old as well and part time your 6 yr old.. so it's up to you how much to charge and also how much your friends can afford..As a minimum between $150- $200 p/week but that's on the low side...

Call a day care.  They would probably charge about $1000 a month if not more.  Then take into consideration that you are going to be better then a daycare because you are going to be giving so much better attention and probably love the little girl.  I think, depending on how close you are something along the lines of $600 a month is good?  I really don't know, but that's my 2 cents.

The average rate for the day care center that I work at is 30.00 a day for that age group. I would ask for at least 20.00. Make sure you work for it though.
