I think that I might be having seizures, beginning in 2006, that are causing me to have perceptual disturbances. These perceptual disturbances are currently diagnosed by my doctor as "panic disorder," but I have my reasons for thinking that my attacks are more neurological than psychiatric.  I only had about 2 episodes so far this year during which time my perception suddenly gets weird, like I feel like I'm morphing into furniture (then I have a panic attack *after* suddenly being stuck with that. Could this be a seizure disorder, and if it is what might I do about it?  Is there any test I should get to find out? I imagine not, since it's something that happens randomly and not very often. ?

My son first had his seizure 3 years ago. Something made me wake up to hear him breathing odd....I opened his door and he was foaming at the mouth. I called 911 and the paramedics and fireman could not wake him. It lasted 3 to 4 minutes and it took 15 minutes before he actually knew what was going on. They took him to hospital and did spinal tap and MRI, BUT it took a neurologist to find  a tumor in his brain, near left Tempore lobe.We just had surgery to remove tumor in May and thus far he has been seizure free. The tumor was beniegn but the couldn't remove all of it. The had to remove the left tempore lobe .Let me ask you some questions and you can see if any of these may apply.  Do you wake up from deep sleep and don't know where you are?Do you wet your shirt or pillow? Or you confused and stare into space? Do you suddenly stop talking and someone has to shake you to get your attention?Seizures is a neurological disorder and it effects the brain every time you have 1. Please get yourself checked out, an MRI is the only way to detect it.
