Title: What's it like at a treatment center? Post by: luckycharms on October 25, 2008, 11:04:27 PM When a person goes to say Drug rehab for 30, 60, 90 days or longer-what happens? What is life like on a daily basis for the person staying there? They can't be in therapy 24/7. What do they do there when they aren't attending meetings or in some kind of therapy? Do they take art classes or yoga or something or other? Thanks!

Like "art therapy" or process groups where you talk a lot of things out. It's definitely not fun, but pays off in the long run when it comes to addiction.

But then you begin to feel better about sobriety and alls well. As for "other activities', you will:Do work assignments, go on outings to the park, have cook outs and special get togethers on all holidays. The following is a therapy, but it's great. You will have family fundamentals, which is where your family can come and have therapy sessions with you and then you and your family can spend alone time together on the property. If you have any other questions regaurding treatment activities or general questions about them, then email me. I WENT THROUGH TREATMENT AND THEN WORKED THERE FOR 4 YEARS. THEY HAVE GREAT CAREER OPPROTUNITIES FOR PATIENTS WHO HAVE BEEN CLEAN FOR ATLEAST A YEAR.

Post by: coldgreyAsh on October 26, 2008, 03:52:27 PM OK, this is a cancer forum first of all.Second, what they do is go to group meetings, go to individual counseling, do activities like arts and crafts - some places have exercise classes. Some of the rich places have spa treatments. You get up at a certain time, your day is mostly planned for you and you eat at a certain time, and you go to bed at a certain time. If you have private time for an hour or so a day they want you to be meditating or writing in a diary, etc.
