It's been Breast Cancer awareness month.....all I hear....Breast Cancer!  Breast Cancer!!  Tell someone you love to get a checkup.  Go Today!!  CATCH IT EARLY!  bREAST CANCER, BREAST CANCER!!  All month long it has been pounded in my head that I need to tell the women in my life that I care for to get a breast exam.  Well, the other day my wife was mentioning how she's always had a strong feeling that she will not only get breast cancer but die of it.  So, being the concerned husband I said  "You should go for a mammogram.".  She gets very nasty and tells me thats for old ladies.  Me and her just turned thirty and I mentioned that doctors are finding breast cancer in women younger these  days.  I told her about being able to fnd it early to treat it but she wanted nothing to do with it.  Now, with all the hype on breast cancer this month you tell me why a woman who already thinks she's going to develop the disease is more interested in coping an attitude with her husband; who is just showing sincere concern, instead of going to get a exam?

Two reasons she's probably acting like this.... 1.She's stubborn. 2. She's scared of the results.

I dunno man, sorry she's so harsh, probably just don't wanna get her boobie smooshed ya know?  But she should go get checked if she has any real reason to think she may get it. eg family history or feeling a lump, at least get the lump checked out by the doc, and request a mammo, good luck.

Maybe she is scared they really will find something. My thought is just do it and get it over with.I'm 43,not an old lady and I just had my yearly mammogram. Also maybe she needs a female to talk it over with,a doctor or good friend. My neighbor in her early 30s had a lump got a mammogram, did a biopsy and all was well.Just be understanding and maybe encourage her to speak to her doctor.

I'm 35, and I just had my baseline mammogram.  It's not just for "old ladies".  40 used to be the first mammogram age- now it's 35.Her Dr. will check her breasts during her yearly exam, and she can also examine herself for lumps.  You could examine them too. She's probably just freaked about getting older and being hormonal right now.  She'll get over it.  When we act that way- there isn't always a reason.  *sigh*
