NO matter what, that isn't breast cancer. But it never hurts to get tested and relieve the nervousness from your friend.Good luck to you and your friend for the future.

its just because they are growing, her breast are probably developing and the tissue has a tendency to be dense in areas as she develops. Dont worry, its just puberty and hormones that make breasts kind of lumpyYoung people are much less likely to get cancer, and there are all sorts of other things the lump could be. But the only sensible thing to do is show it to a doctor and get a professional opinion. If it IS something serious, the chances are much better the earlier it's diagnosed.

Less than 10% of all cancers are hereditary and it does not skip generation. It is unknown if a 14 year old has ever had breast cancer  (Although there may be a case in a journal somewhere.) as there is not enough, if any, data to keep track of. Tell your friend to talk to her mom about it or she can ask her doctor the next time she see him. It is not unusual for a teenager to get a lump in their breast.

At 14 the chances of breast cancer are very, very, very close to zero. Breast cancer is mainly a disease of ageing: 80% of people diagnosed with it are over 50, it’s rare in women under 40 and it’s almost unheard of in under 25s.The American Cancer Society and other cancer organisations recommend that women start breast self-examination at the age of 20 - there’s a reason for that.Only 5-10% of breast cancer cases are hereditary, and no it doesn't skip a generation. Most breast lumps, even in women over 50, aren't cancerous.Your friend should talk to her mother, or to her school nurse for reassurance
