Well, I'm 13. I've been doing a self breast examination daily, and I've noticed since I was like in 6th grade that I have a big lump, which I'm sure is just like a disc or something because it's in my whole breast, on both. But lately I've been feeling maybe a different bump. I'm not sure if I'm overreacting because my moms friend got diagnosed about a month ago. But there is also a red vain-like mark going from about an inch from my nipple to the outer part of my nipple. It's not rough or a different texture or anything. It's just there. I mean, there isn't any pain. And I've kinda always had a little while, milk-like liquid come out and dry up, but it's only in the morning, before I shower. After that, it's fine. There isn't any blood or anything. I looked up breast cancer, and I looked at the symptoms. I mean, I might have a bump, but I'm not sure. And I think the mark may have been there since 6th grade, too. I can't remember. I'm in 8th grade now, by the way. It's just been bugging me for a while, and I don't want to get diagnosed like 20 years from now because I didn't sooner. Is it possible for my age? Please respond. I hope I'm just overreacting. I need to know soon. I've been feeling fine, by the way.And don't be mean about it. I know that the chance of me getting cancer at my age is very slim, but I just want to make sure.

I don't know I'm sorry. Maybe it's because your growing your breasts are growing? How about you ask an adult or a doctor?

It could just be your breasts developing, but you should be on the safe side and talk to your doctor.  Let your mom know you have some real concerns, and be upfront about all of your symptoms.  Ask her to take you to the doctor for an exam.  Breast cancer is nothing to take lightly.  And good for you to be doing breast exams at such a young age.  Early detection is always best.

The 'discs' you feel are just breast tissue.  As you noticed they do not change and are probably hard to find, correct? The red mark is probably a stretch mark. What size/thickness is the red mark? Is it shiny or sort of see-through ? Is it indented? These are stretch marks. They can also be purple, and fade to silver and eventually white. You are over-reacting but it's natural.Lots of things cause lumps in breasts and if you ever find one you ought to get it checked out instead of waiting since 6th grade which would probably mean if it's cancer you would definitely be dead by now.You can not be diagnosed with cancer 20 years after you get it. You would be dead by then.I don't understand how milk can be coming out of your breasts. You must be seeing things because that is not normal. If you have discharge it's an infection which can be taken care of by seeing a doc.Breasts are lumpy things that's why you're supposed to do self exams so you can know what's normal and detect any changes. If you are not sure whether it's a lump, it is not. What you want to look out for is hard, definite lumps, not 'bumps'.Your breast cancer risk right now is noexistant. But you will probably die of it if you ever get it. Since you seem to think waiting 2 years then asking about it on YA is what to do when cancer is suspected.

Yes, you are overreacting, but it's understandable as you know someone who's recently been diagnosed - it is scary,But at 13 the chances of breast cancer are very, very, very close to zero. Breast cancer is predominantly a disease of ageing: 80% of people diagnosed with it are over 50, it’s rare in women under 40 and it’s almost unheard of in under 25s.The American Cancer Society and other cancer organisations recommend that women start breast self-examination at the age of 20 - there’s a reason for that. The purpose of breast self-examination is so that women whose breasts are fully developed can become familiar with how their breasts normally are, and report any changes to their doctor. Even adult women are  recommended to do self-exam only once a month. For teenagers, whose breasts are still growing and developing, breast-self exam is pointless, and needlessly worrying.Your breasts are still growing and developing and what you describe are not breast cancer symptoms but almost certainly hormonal; the fact that both your breasts are the same makes it even less likely to be anything sinister..Most breast lumps, even in women over 50, aren't cancerous. You are worrying yourself silly by reading up on symptoms of a cancer you are in no danger of getting and by doing completely unnecessary breast self-examinations.Talk to your mother about this, or if you feel you can’t do that then talk to your school nurse - she will be used to such questions and will take you seriously, and should be able to reassure you.

hi KittyBEcause you are young, I would tell your mum or a close female adult about your concerns. You can get cancer at any age and whilst there is a whole list of things it could be- at your age just the growth of your breasts etc- you need it checking to be safe. you wont live for 20 years if you have cancer and dont treat it. if you have cancer it will be treated and you have a good chance to beat it. but if you dont treat you cant beat,..good luck sweetie.

One testicle should be higher than the other. It would be strange and likely cause you problems if it was not. You do not have symptoms of testicular cancer. You do have a classic signs of varicoceles. You need to see a urologist and start wearing a support right away. This is usually harmless, but can lead to infertility.

Run to the doctors to make analysis ASAP! Isn't your mom scared of this thing? Did you tell her about this? AS regards cancer, all is possible at your age as well. But don't panic beforehand - first of all, go and check your situation. Only after that you'll be able to know. Good Luck! Hope all is well, however.
