What a very good question.  I can't imagine people who research vaccines to then vaccinate because what you will learn from just the CDC's website will freak you out.  Vaccines only last about 5 to 10 years in the percentage of people they actually work in.  Let's take Hep. B, the vaccines babies get on the day they are born, no matter how premature, oxygen-starved, etc.  Hep. B is transmitted via sex and drug needles.  Hmmm, how many children 10 and under need to be worried about getting that?  Do the research yourself.  You will never view the world the same again because of what you will learn.  Also, I beilieve the Hep B is one of those vaccines that have aluminun hydroxide.  Here is the latest on that:http://www.proliberty.com/observer/20071206.htmBut know that each vaccine has its own issues, and researching about them will shock every inch of your body into disbelief.  See for yourself; do some research.  You can even stick to official government and medical journal websites.

Look up the 1970s pertussis epidemic in the US. THAT is why we do it. Hundreds of thousands of infants and children sick every year, hundreds dying. Hundreds crippled. Infants have no immune protection against these pathogens otherwise. And yeah, HepB for children is kind of silly. But I wouldn't go to the work I do every day if I didn't have it.Generally the two most important ones are DTaP - mainly for the pertussis component. The other one is MMR, mainly for the mumps and measles components - rubella is more of a risk later in life for various reasons. And Measles is just.. god damned nasty.HiB is frequently given because it's a viciously ugly infection. Lots of pneumonia, mucus infections and it only hits children, specifically infants. This vaccine came out and we now have less than 2 cases per hundred thousand children in the US.Some add others, some don't. Those are the three big important ones though.
