I went for an Evaluation at a treatment center and they reccommended Intensive Outpatient. Just wondering... what is the difference between someone who needs Outpatient treatment and those who need 24/7 rehab

If you can do outpatient, then you are still capable of making decisions about your care, and taking care of business.

i think you are better off on out paitences at least you got the chance to try yourself instead of been committed into a place where they watch you 24/7

Some are like that,  I think they turn away people they feel they can't completely control. So your able to think for yourself, good and don't loose heart. You will find the right one if you look around. Though some people manage without the assistance of Rehab.

It can be depending on cost and if you have insurance or it could mean you are not hardcore and still functional. Hardcored addicts often need hospitlization to go through medical withdrawls.

Types of Alcohol Treatment:

In Patient Alcohol Treatment - In patient alcohol treatment is for those who have had serious alcohol problems for many years, have already tried to and failed to get sober or who feel that they would not have the support or strength to complete an out patient program.

Out Patient Alcohol Treatment - Out patient alcohol treatment is ideal for patients that have less severe alcohol addictions, in sufficient time to participate in an in patient program or possibly who are on the second stage of recovery after an in patient program.

Christian Alcohol Treatment - For many patients participating in a christian or faith based program offers additional benefits and allows them to draw strength from their faith.

Adolescent Alcohol Treatment - Although it is not something we would expect but teenage alcoholism is on the rise and there are some great programs created especially to help treat and deal with the problems of adolescent alcohol treatment.
