add : attention deficit disorderadhd: attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.So, if you have adhd, by definition, you have add.

Yes this is quite common. Actually most of the time both go together. There are medications that help.

Yes it is common to have both of them.  Both of them have a lot of similarities to them.

There is no longer just "Attention Deficit Disorder", or ADD.  The DSM-IV recognizes 3 types of ADHD, a predominately Inattentive type, a predominately Hyperactive type, and a Combined type.  So, what once was considered ADD is now considered to be the predominately Inattentive type of ADHD.

this is about the 3rd time i have seen this question-by defination --nowhat is thought of as ADD or ADHD are 2 variations of the same conditionwhether you haveattention difficultieshyperactivitymixed symptomsit is just 1 condition--if you use the old label ADHD and are inattentive--that is included in the definition---ATTENTION DEFICIT and HYPERACTIVITY-therefore a second diagnosis of ADD is incorrect
